Recreation & Entertainment

From golf to bowling, and trap shooting to antique tractor pulls, Greeley County boasts a variety of recreational, educational, and historical opportunities.

Prairie Ridge Golf Course

Located on the north edge of Tribune, the Prairie Ridge Golf Course is a nine-hole bent grass-green course with buffalo grass fairways and bluegrass tee boxes. Annual tournaments and events encourage team play, and it's not unusual to see the course in use in December or March as Indian summer days draw the golfers out of hibernation. Daily packages or yearly memberships are available.

Greeley County Library

Greeley County Library

The Greeley County Library strives to provide informational, educational, and recreational services, materials, and programs for all generations. Its warm, welcoming decor and personnel banish all thoughts of institutional libraries as children play freely in the children's room, and adults curl up in front of a stone fireplace with free coffee and a good book in hand. For more information, visit their webpage at http://www.greeleycolibrary.info/.

Horace Greeley Museum

The Horace Greeley Museum pays tribute to the experiences, livelihoods, and characters of Greeley County history.  Countless exhibits, ranging from quilts, brands, spinning tops, and other souvenirs from the county’s residents adorn the 1890s building, which served as the county courthouse until 1975. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the building’s architecture is an inviting and welcoming space, providing a glimpse of days gone by. A newly constructed gazebo is the site for summer community band concerts and other gatherings.

Community & Youth Action Team (CYAT) Center

CYAT Center

The CYAT center was formed by volunteers in 2000 to provide a place for community youth and teenagers to hang out, interact, and socialize. Focused on providing a smoke and alcohol free environment for all, the CYAT Center features several pool tables, a shuffleboard table, arcade machines, a dance floor, a lounge area, and a snack area where ice cream and other foods are available for purchase. The CYAT Center is also available for birthday parties, family reunions, and a variety of other events.

Tribune Family Theatre

The Tribune Theatre was built in the 1940s and has long served as gathering point for the Greeley County area and beyond. It has been updated and renovated since its early days, but the focus remains providing entertainment and promoting community. See a new show each weekend beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the newly renovated space, featuring new seats and digital surround sound.
