  It's all about location.

MapGreeley County is on the western border of Kansas, just south of the vertical geographic center of the state. Tribune, the largest town and the county seat, sustains a population of approximately 765 people, according to the 2004 estimates. Horace, the county’s other population center, is home to approximately 150 people. It is bordered on the north by Wallace County, to the east by Wichita County, to the south by Hamilton County, and to the west, Colorado.

Greeley County is situated between two major traffic ways: Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 50. From Tribune, Highway 50 is 33 miles south, and Interstate 70 is located 60 miles north by Kansas State Highway 27. Highway 385 in Colorado (the designated Port-to-Plains Route) is 30 miles west of Tribune, and Highway 83, which runs through Garden City, Scott City, and Oakley, is 46 miles east.

Greeley County is a quick half-day drive to Denver, Wichita, Amarillo, or a variety of other destinations. In a matter of hours, you can be hitting the slopes in Colorado or boating on one of Kansas' lakes and reserviors.
