Make plans to be in town May 31 – June 2, 2019 for the Eighth Annual June Jaunt. Enjoy any and all of the many activities being hosted by a number of local organizations, businesses, and groups.

On Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1, check out the Community Wide Garage Sales & Downtown Sidewalk Sales. There are currently 14 sales registered for the weekend! Sales are scheduled to run from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. – 12 noon on Saturday, though some will only be open one day or the other. There is still time to register a sale – call us at (620) 376-2548 before Tuesday, May 29. Maps with sale descriptions will be available at Gooch’s Foods, Dixon Drug, and Eagle Convenience on Thursday, May 30.

Greeley County Football will offer concessions from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, and from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, at the Greeley County 4H Building in conjunction with the Gavin B. Kleymann Memorial Livestock Show.
The Gavin B. Kleymann Memorial Livestock Show and Silent Auction is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, at the Greeley County Fairgrounds. Weigh-in begins at 7 a.m. on both days, except for the sheep and goats, which will begin weigh-in at 12 noon on Saturday. The show will include class payouts and breed champion awards for meat goats, swine, sheep, beef, and breeding heifers, as well as showmanship buckles and prizes. Silent auctions will also run both days of the event in the meeting room at the 4H Pavilion. Tribune’s K-96 June Jaunt Car Show is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, on the islands between Zenaide and Emporia Streets. Hosted by the Greeley County Recreation Foundation, this show will feature awards for the top 15 cars, as well as people’s choice and other special awards. Awards will be presented at 12 noon. The registration fee is $25 by May 31 or $30 on the day of the show. For more information or to pre-register, call Lori Brandl at (620) 376-8122.
Registration for the Grubb Brothers Memorial Poker Run will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at The Trench. The run will begin at 10 a.m. and riders and drivers will return to Tribune by 4 p.m. Dinner will be served from 4 – 6 p.m. and the dance will begin at 9 p.m. For more information, call The Trench at (620) 376-2900.
The Spring Arts & Crafts Fair will be held on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. A variety of unique vendors will participate, offering food, hand-made household and décor items, jewelry, independent consultants, and more. This event will also be held at the Greeley County 4H Building in conjunction with the Gavin B. Kleymann Memorial Livestock Show and Auction.
The Leoti Tribune 2-Person Golf Scramble has been scheduled for Saturday, June 2, and Sunday, June 3. Tee times for both days is 9 a.m. M.T. and the cost for the weekend tournament is $160 per team, which includes mulligans. Saturday’s play will be at the Leoti Country Club in Leoti. Sunday’s play will happen at Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Tribune. A free-will donation lunch will be available both days. First Farm Bank of Tribune and Security State Bank of Leoti have donated $1,000 in extra prize money for the tournament and hole prizes will be given for each hole.
The Greeley County Swimming Pool and Greeley County Recreation will host a free swim from 1 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.
The Greeley County Amusement Association will host a new event, the Tribune Tryathlon, on Saturday, June 1. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Alley Bar and Grill, with games to begin at 1:45 p.m. Games will be played at The Alley Bar & Grill and The Trench Bar and Grill. Described as a triathlon for the rest of us, the event will include horseshoes, bowling, and corn hole to be played by teams of 4. The registration cost is $40/team. The community-owned Star Theater of Tribune will show Ugly Dolls Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night (May 31 – June 2) at 7 p.m. It’s rated PG and has a running time of 87 minutes. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for children ages 12 and under. *Please note that the Sunday movie show time has been moved back to 7 p.m. for the summer.
VFW Post 7521 will host Bingo on Sunday, June 2. The doors open at 4:30 p.m. and games begin at 5:30 p.m. There will be cash prizes and a progressive jackpot.
