Greeley County's elementary student population thrives in an atmosphere designed to stimulate their growth and development. Educators encourage creative thinking, and it is not unusual for a group of fourth graders to host a meal for their parents or community members to practice etiquette or celebrate a holiday. Frequent music and talent programs showcase the students' abilities, and a well-used playground set provides a break from classes. Children play at will throughout the schoolyard and the community, often moving their fun from the playground to the county library after the final bell has rung.
A number of well-trained, highly experienced teachers and instructors work with USD 200s kindergarten through 5th grade students. From field trips to in-class experiments and projects, the youth of Greeley County are quickly introduced to the skills they will need to help them become productive, successful young adults.
Each elementary grade has its own computer lab, demonstrating the district's commitment to the use of technology as a key learning tool for the 21st century. Para-professionals assist teachers in the classrooms and help ensure individual attention for each student.
Half-day preschool is also available for children aged 4.
